The Rooftop at Pier 17

here, one finds oneself perched atop pier 17, a feat of verticality in the financial district. the air is open, as they say, with views of the brooklyn bridge. the east river, too, makes an appearance, flowing by with its usual indifference. it is a rooftop, certainly, and one can observe the distant landmass of brooklyn, a place people apparently still visit. perhaps late afternoon, when the sun decides to grace the river with a bit of golden hour drama, is the time for this.
